Mary Austin Smith, D.D.S.
Dr. Mary Austin Smith, DDS is thrilled to be the newest associate at Brink and White Pediatric Dental Associates.
“I love being with children, having the opportunity to make them smile, and give them fun experiences when they come to the dentist!”
Dr. Mary is a native Memphian and graduate of St. Mary’s Episcopal School. As a St. Mary’s Turkey, she competed in basketball, cross-country, soccer and track.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in biology from Rhodes College, where she was a cheerleader and the co-director of the all-women’s a capella group, Lipstick on Your Collar.
Dr. Mary attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN, where she served as honor council secretary and President. Upon graduating, she received the Pediatric Dental Alumni Association Award.
While a student at the College of Dentistry, she founded a non-profit organization, Memphis Dental Outreach, Inc., whose mission is to spread oral health awareness among children in the Memphis area.
She frequents schools and various children’s organizations to perform her, “Mary Molar” presentation where she dresses up as a life-sized tooth and teaches children about oral health.

After dental school, Dr. Mary completed advanced education in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry residencies. She also obtained pediatric advanced life support and conscious sedation certificates.

Outside the Office
Dr. Mary and her husband Scott are parents to three children, Davidson, Kit, and Phoebe Diane. They also have two dogs named Lolly and Winston. Dr. Mary and her husband enjoy church and family life.
In their free time, they enjoy running, playing with their dogs, and cheering for the Memphis Grizzlies.
